Grief Support
The Pueblo Suicide Prevention Center provides grief support counseling to those who have lost a loved one through suicide. This support is offered through one-to-one counseling to both individuals and families, our monthly grief support group called Heartbeat, access to our 24 hour crisis line for emergency counseling and a listing of reading literature for the survivor to read. Please know you don’t have to go through this alone.
These services are provided through grants. Donations are appreciated.
Victims & Trauma Counseling
Through a grant provided by the Victims Assistance Law Enforcement (VALE) Fund we provide one to one or critical incident debriefing counseling to those individuals who been victimized by a criminal event or life threatening crisis or trauma. All one to one counseling is provided by appointment through our office by calling 564-6642.
Critical Incident Debriefing
Critical Incident Debriefing is a trauma aftermath session done within a day or several days following a traumatic event. The staff (minimum of 2) will conduct a two hour session with a group of traumatized individuals who have shared the same trauma.
The Critical Incident Debriefing takes approximately two hours either on scene or close by the trauma. This is a group process to help the individuals to share common reactions and responses, both physically and emotionally and to learn about normal reactions to a crisis event and how to promote healthy healing.
